Dublin City Enterprise Board is making available website development funding for small businesses operating in Dublin City employing less than 10 employees. This fund is not part of our core funding. It is designed to help small business part-fund the cost of creating or developing a commercial web presence.

There is currently limited funding for Website Grants.

Funding Terms

  • Grant covers 50% of eligible costs up to a maximum of €2,500, excluding VAT
  • Only certain 3rd party costs qualify i.e. cost of work you have commissioned others to do.
  • Eligible costs include domain name registration, hosting, web site development and ecommerce applications (online payment systems).
  • Photography and internet promotion for example Google ads are not eligible expenses.
  • Expenditure incurred prior to grant approval is not eligible.
  • Participation on the Dublin City Enterprise Board 'Website Development' training course is required.

  • Export Potential - selling outside Ireland
  • Quality of the proposal
  • Support eligibility of the Enterprise Board (support criteria)

Further information and the application form can be found on Dublin City Enterprise Board website.

Please note, it is essential to fully investigate the eligibility requirements of these grants before applying.

For qualifying businesses there are generally grants available for up to half the cost of new websites or a maximum of €1500 - €2500, which ever is the lesser. Your Local enterprise boards are great sources of information and help for business, most run on line marketing or website management courses, as well as broader marketing and business development programmes.

To receive funding under this scheme, successful applicants must take part in the Dublin City Enterprise Board Website Development' training course.

Other Reigons

For those operating in other parts of the country you can find simplar information on your local enterprise board website. Type "local enterprise board" into google and replace the word local with your county. For example "Meath Enterprise board" will deliver these results in Google.

There are a list of projects not supported by the enterprise board if you fit into this bracket you might try an organisation like First Step. First Step was setup in 1991 as a non profit organisation who's aojective was to provide micro loan finance (i.e. loans less than €25,000) to projects which cannot access funding (or sufficient funding) from other sources. To date First Step has assisted 1,500 projects. It is estimated these projects created in excess of 3,000 employment opportunities. if you local enterprise board cannot help you then this would be a good place to turn.
