Although some website can seem quite similar there are always a few elements that are unique. Each website that RedPebble develops will have a Proposal Document and a Product Specifications Document ensuring an individual approach. We keep full transparency so you are informed of everything that’s happening during the project life-cycle so there will never be any hidden surprises.

Our approach follows a six step process.

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Following an initial discussion we will prepare a free proposal document detailing your requirements together with the fees and time scales for our services. This is mainly the ideas stage where all suggestions are brought to the table; we spend time getting to know you and your business or organization, working together we will arrive at a solution to suit your needs. We may send you a questionnaire with some general questions to get things started. If necessary we will then refine the proposal based on any feedback you may have in order to give you a final cost and time analysis.

Step 2: Approval & Initial Payment

When you have approved the proposal document work can begin on your project once initial payment of 30% is received.

Step 3: Product Specification Document

In this stage we expand on the proposal document going into further detail about each aspect of your sites functionality. Prior to starting any design work we gather together all the information that will be displayed on your site such as text and images. Once everything is organized a Product Specification Document will be submitted to the client for review. The information architecture or structure of your site will be detailed in this document as well as some wireframe mock ups of the structure to help you visualize the different sections of your site. When this part is finished we then move on to the design stage where any branding and logo information will be used and incorporated into the design. Once the client signs off on this document then we proceed to the development stage.

The PSD is specifically and fairly prepared to protect both us and you, it will entail all the details for the project including fees, timelines, breakdown of services and payment terms and conditions. Everything to do with your website will be included in this document.

Step 4: Design & Development

Working exclusively from the PSD RedPebble will design and implement the website according to the approved specifications. Sometimes the production phase is often the longest phase of the project process.

Step 5: Analysis & Testing

The website will be thoroughly tested to ensure it is error-free before going live; the PSD will contain a list of tests that will need to be performed. Once these tests have been completed any issues that have arisen will be resolved. Depending on the nature of test results this can delay the final launch of the site.

Step 6: Completion and Go Live!

This is the final stage, the website is live and we submit your site to the major search engines. We will contact you a few weeks after your site has been online to make sure everything is running smoothly and to get any feedback you’ve received. We may also request a Client Testimonial. The final payment of 70% is received after a two week period from “Go Live”.

How long does a web site take?

This will depend very much on your particular project requirements and how readily available your information is, for example corporate branding, images and text can take some time to gather together for a website. However, you can be assured that whatever the project you will be given a realistic project plan for the development.
